Let the night begin Retire to bed and dream It's all ironic Tripping we fall alive Ghost ships wait to ride This life is monophonic Mother Sonic Nature and beauty combine In fields of grass we climb So platonic Muddled minds Through vestibule walls Speak the first harmonic Mother Sonic Governments in rich mode Make the poor more cold It's demonic I'll return you from this trip Contemplate and sit Enjoy this tonic Mother Sonic

Angel of the night time You can make the sunshine shine When we are together Through all kinds of weather wind Bye bye, bye bye Let me slip inside you You don't have to Lose the ties that bind you You can give the darkness light Bye bye, bye bye Angel of the night time You can make the sunshine shine When we are together Through all kinds of weather wind Bye bye, bye bye baby na na na na na

I hitched my wagon to a fading star Once she burned so bright, then she fell so far I hitched my wagon to a fading star Once she burned so bright, then she fell so far Ah, ah-ah-ah... Flying high in the summer sky There's no reason why you and I can't fly Flying high in the summer sky There's no reason why you and I can't fly Ah, ah-ah-ah... I got rhyme, I got reason I got music in my soul But when the fever hits me I find myself but I lose control I never trusted the government All they represent is the two per cent I never trusted the government All they represent is the two per cent Ah, ah-ah-ah...

Listen to the sea, listen to it breathe It's in my head, wrapped up and fed It starts the day, it starts the day But struggles just like me Can I touch you soon beneath tomorrow's moon? The sky is ours, guitars and flowers Summer kisses, summer kisses Live the dream I'll protect you from the tide Deeper feelings from inside Rain has come, time to run Swallowed up, surrender to the sky Left you much too soon, left our sheltered room The time we had - you're good, I'm bad Morning's fast, morning's fast It was all a dream

Death doesn't end love Its journey we mourn Across a thousand seas Calm in trust Reaching for the day and night Its heartbeat continues A seclusion of time Fire laps the soul Making promises in our minds Shelter from storms We are brothers and sisters Never broken, never lost And Death doesn't end love

I've put up with your schtick for too long And now I'm gonna do things my way I'm gonna put my pedal to the metal And I'm gonna hit the highway When you wake up I'll be gone A hundred miles or more I'm sorry that it's come to this I've gotta even up the score I told you I was a bad motor scooter Bad motor scooter Bad motor scooter I wish that I could see your face When you find out that I've gone You ate my food and you drank my wine And now I'm heading for the sun You should've treated me better baby When you had the chance Now I'm out of your life for good And it really is good riddance I told you I was a bad motor scooter Bad motor scooter Bad motor scooter

There can be some implications When you take this medication It can lead to levitation Or induce hallucinations It can be your inspiration Or can lead to much frustration It isn't recreational It can be quite sensational At the time of application You might feel a strange sensation Leading to elation And eventual deflation And by my calculations You'll be out for the duration This is just my estimation And not a declaration So you've had the stimulation And it's led to dehydration Heartbeat fluctuation And excessive perspiration All the information Was there for your investigation Now you want special dispensation 'Cos you've failed your comprehension? There can be no compensation 'Cos you've taken it intentionally You gave no indication You had any trepidations So before you write a citation I suggest a consultation To the document in question Which you signed without hesitation

If you were a stamp I'd lick and mail you If you were a piece of wood I'd nail you If you were a hurdle I would jump you If you were a camel I would hump you Once or twice It would be so nice

Take me for a ride on your magic carpet Hold onto the sides of your magic carpet Feeling kinda sick about the futures market And all the things that die in the La Brea Tar Pit Drifting through the night, you know the skies are starlit Bring me Mädchen Amick or another starlet We can rock 'n' roll upon your magic carpet Maybe she can finish off what she started Round and round, round and round Round and round, round and round And round and round it goes Where it stops, nobody knows Drifting over houses and the supermarkets Feeling like a Thunderbird or Captain Scarlet We are made of stardust, we are ancient carbon The past is truth, the future lies beyond the curtain Round and round, round and round Round and round, round and round And round and round it goes Where it stops, nobody knows

Why do you come here? You make me feel so low Why do you come here? You make me want to show Why? Why? Why? Why? Why do you come here? I like it on my own Why do you come here? I'm on my isolated throne Why? Why? Why? Why?

about

La Bella Luna comprise, but is not restricted to, two individuals - Jim Hamilton and Ronnie Carnwath. Ronnie is also a member of Lulubelle III. They became aware of each other through facebook. Jim posted a guitar track he had recorded and Ronnie heard other things in the chords - a violin was added and some glissando guitar and a vocal, which was the first thing that suggested itself. That became "Angel".

Being sufficiently impressed by the result, they decided to record some more tunes. Before long, there was enough for a whole album. The album title "From A To B And Back Again" was inspired by the group's method of working, which was practiced by Elton John and Bernie Taupin in the pre-digital age - one would send the track (or vocal) and the other would complete the song. The title is also, coincidentally the title of Andy Warhol's autobiography. Ronnie likes the fact that the acronym spells ABBA - one of his favourite groups.

Both members are fans of 1960s psychedelia (The Doors, Pink Floyd, Love, etc) and 1980s indie (The Jesus & Mary Chain, Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine, etc.). The influences extend far beyond those genres, however - there's an Orb-like dub track on the album, the DLT-baiting toy instrument sampling "DJ (Scratch Yourself)", which was inspired by John Peel's recollections of interviewing 'The Hairy Cornflake' for Radio Times and whereupon inquiring as to the whereabouts of his record collection, was told: "I don't own any records - my friends tape me stuff and I listen to them in the car (!)"

Add to this the hard rocking opener "Mother Sonic" as well as the old school RNB vibe of "Bad Motor Scooter", which was described by none other than Jim Reid (of J&MC) as "The bastard offspring of The Cramps and The Doors." Can there be any higher recommendation? Not to La Bella Luna's ears at any rate.
